The Spinpoint M8 has a 3Gbps SATA interface and 8MB of buffer memory. Features include EcoSeek and NoiseGuard, which Spinpoint M8 uses to lower its power consumption and to run quietly, respectively. According to Samsung, the redesigned drive uses the high-density advanced format technology (ADF), resulting in a seven percent increase in speed and and eight percent decrease in power.
